Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is a commonly performed gynecologic surgery, primarily for the treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding, fibroid uterus, chronic pelvic pain and pain during intercourse. Laparoscopic surgery uses small incisions no larger than the width of your fingernail to introduce telescope like instruments into the abdomen. This allows the gynecologist to perform the hysterectomy through these small incisions. Patients typically go home the same day that the surgery is done and are back to work with minimal down time. This is far different from how hysterectomy was performed in the past, and completely eliminates the need for months of recovery. For more information, click here
da Vinci Robotic Surgery
Thanks to a breakthrough surgical technology, hysterectomies and myomectomies can now be performed using the da Vinci Robotic system. This amazing technology allows Dr. Adler and Dr. Latchaw to perform very complex gynecological procedures. It is a safe, minimally invasive alternative to both open surgery and laparoscopy. Through tiny incisions, we use the da Vinci System to operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
